Our new OpenAg® Center in North Carolina is getting new innovations into the hands of growers faster.
With the opening of the OpenAg® Center, a state-of-the-art, global research and development hub in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, UPL is breaking down traditional barriers and accelerating the pace of innovation in agriculture. The goal is to get new technologies into the hands of growers faster.
The new OpenAg® Center will enable UPL to leverage our advanced R&D capabilities in partnership with other innovation-based companies to characterize, develop and commercialize new sustainable solutions for agriculture. Agriculture is in dire need of transformation, and today’s slow rate of technology innovation and on-farm deployment cannot continue if we are to solve the world’s impending food shortage. The OpenAg® Center will create partnerships that will transform agriculture by delivering broad value across the entire food production network.
A newly recruited team of seasoned, sought-after scientists, working together in our high-tech laboratories will be able to quickly validate a wide range of technologies—from the latest biologically-inspired approaches to new chemistry-based innovations. Combining the agility and innovation of startups with the flexible partnership model, the scientific, R&D, IP, field development and registration expertise of UPL, the OpenAg® Center will fuel a faster, more efficient process of getting technologies tested, approved and in the field.
